Visitors who don’t have tickets for the Commonwealth Games don’t have to miss out on the party atmosphere at Sportcity.

Over 50,000 free tickets are available for access to the plaza area of Sportcity, home to the City of Manchester Stadium, National Squash Centre and Table Tennis Centre.

The tickets will allow visitors to stock up on goodies from the official merchandise superstore and enjoy the fun and games put on by the Games’ sponsors.

They can be collected from any of the M2002 official merchandise stores in and around Manchester, including the Arndale Centre, Trafford Centre and Piccadilly Gardens.

Each ticket, which will not allow access inside the stadium or other venues, will be valid for specific time slots. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis from July 24 and are limited to five per person.

Sarah Liggins, Retail Director of the M2002 Official Merchandise Superstore said: “Anyone who has bought a ticket for a stadium event will obviously want to be in their seat when the action takes place. The intention is to make Sportcity a lively place to be at all times.

“Sportcity tickets allow access to the heart of the Games to everyone, free of charge. We feel these games are the event of a lifetime here, and we’re delighted that 28,000 free tickets are going to be made available to the public. “

During the event itself Sportcity tickets can be picked up from all official merchandise outlets, including the Commonwealth Games Store - Arndale Centre, Commonwealth Games Barrow – Trafford Centre, Piccadilly Station, Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester Aquatics Centre retail unit, G-MEX & MICC retail outlets, MEN Arena retail outlets, Salford Quays retail unit, Belle Vue Hockey Centre retail unit, Heaton Park retail unit and Rivington retail unit.
