Park and ride is proving a big hit with Manchester 2002 spectators.

Spectators are making good use of the park and ride provisions available to them.

The three sites make it possible for visitors driving to Manchester from all directions to avoid traffic congestion, leave their vehicle in an authorised and secure car park and travel by frequently operating buses and Metrolink tram services to both Sportcity (City of Manchester Stadium, Table Tennis Centre, National Squash Centre) and the city centre.

A day ticket costs only 5 per vehicle and all onward travel is free to each vehicle occupant.

The park and ride sites are located at Heaton Park, Manchester United Football Club and Lancashire County Cricket Club. Get more details here

Spectators arriving at Manchester Piccadilly and Victoria railway stations with Games tickets can also make use of the free shuttle buses which run to Sportcity.
