Tickets for the Commonwealth Games are now on sale. Demand is expected to be high but you can maximise your chances of attending the events of your choice by applying online now through our internet application form Top athletes Denise Lewis and Tanni Grey-Thompson launched the ticket sales programme in front of a packed press conference at the Manchester Velodrome. Manchester United’s Roy Keane joined Shaun Goater and Dennis Tueart from Manchester City to give their local support on a panel headed by Neils deVos, Commercial Director of Manchester 2002. Keane commented, "It's really good that the people of Manchester will be able to see top class sport at such low prices." Half the tickets for the Manchester 2002 Games are priced at £10 or less, making the event the ‘affordable games’. Ticket prices start from £5 for sporting events and from £21 for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. There will be no booking fees or postage and handling charges on any tickets.

But some events will cost nothing to watch! The marathon in Manchester’s city centre, road and mountain biking events at Rivington, near Bolton, the triathlon at the rejuvenated Salford Quays and shooting events at Bisley Park in Surrey are all free to view, meaning that absolutely everyone can enjoy Games’ events. Application forms are also available from any ASDA store nationwide or by calling the ticket hotline on 0870 162 2002.
