The Queen’s Jubilee Baton Relay will end its epic international journey in Manchester, officially marking the start of the XVII Commonwealth Games. Nominated runners, escorted by a convoy, will travel from east Manchester, through the city centre and arrive in Albert Square at 18:45.
This historic occasion will attract significant crowds who will be lining the route of The Queen’s Jubilee Baton Relay and gathering to watch the glittering and spectacular finale in Albert Square.
The celebratory stage and screen show begins at 16:30 until 19:00 hrs. From 14:00 to 19:30 hours, there will be restrictions on vehicular access to some sections of the city and a number of roads will be closed. There will, therefore, be a level of inconvenience around the areas of the Baton route so adapt your routine to enjoy this unique occasion.
