This spectator information section will help you prepare and plan your time at the Games. It includes tips on getting to venues and events, what to bring and what to leave at home, and other essential information to make everything run smoothly.

Planning your day
It's essential to arrive early - at least two hours before start of sessions at the City of Manchester Stadium and one hour before start of sessions at all other venues.
Example: travelling from Liverpool to the City of Manchester Stadium
Athletics session start time - 12.00
Leave Liverpool - 08:45
Travel by train to Manchester - 45 mins
Walk to Sportcity shuttle boarding stand - 15 mins
Shuttle bus to Sportcity - 15 mins
Arrive at Sportcity* - 10.00
Walk to venue - 10 mins
Venue entry and security checks - 30-60 mins
Locate seating - 20 mins
Buy programme and await the action! - 30 mins
Total time - 3 hours 15 mins
Leave venue and return to city centre to enjoy the rest of your day in Manchester!
