Oceania is the name used to designate the region of the Earth comprising most of the islands in the Pacific Ocean and contains many nations which are part of the Commonwealth family. Oceania also includes Australia and New Zealand.

First discovered by an ancient oceanic people, virtually every habitable island in Polynesia (South); Melanesia (West) and Micronesia (North Pacific) was populated more than 2000 years ago. It was not until the 16th century that western man first visited the islands.

To the south of these beautiful islands lies Australia - a continent mad about sport. 30,000 clubs play at local level and inter club events are occasions for the whole family to enjoy. At the Commonwealth Games, Australians excel in Swimming and Athletics while their dedicated supporters who travel the globe to cheer their team along, create a home from home with their nomadic Roo Club.
