Synchronised Swimming

Synchronised swimming will feature in its fifth Commonwealth Games at Manchester 2002 and, so far, the Canadians have scooped all previous eight gold medals. So will anyone stop them continuing this incredible run of success? Australian swimmers will certainly be determined to do so while the rest of the Commonwealth will also be looking to have a say in proceedings.

The high-tech Manchester Aquatics Centre will provide the perfect environment for the solo and duet synchronised events, which are scheduled to take place on day two and day three of the games.

To a casual observer synchronised swimming looks easy. However, only by watching the events in action can one truly appreciate the skills and stamina levels needed to participate in this event.

One thing is for sure - the poolside will be packed to see this unique and graceful event unfold.
