Jaspal Rana celebrates his second gold

Rana who also won a bronze earlier in the competition had a final score of 583.

A jubilant Rana said on his second gold: ďThis is my most important one, because this is my favourite event. Iím happy to have won even though the scores were not that great. The last two times in 1994 and 1998 it went to a tie shoot, so Iím happy this time around it didnít come down to that.Ē

Bruce Quick of Australia followed Rana with a score of 579 to take his second silver of the Games. He won gold at the 1990 Commonwealth Games and silver and bronze in 1998.

Commenting on his performance Quick said: ďI came out today with a positive attitude. You canít ever go out thinking youíre going to win a gold medal. I was concentrating on my technique. I put in a strong performance and I think a silver medal is a just reward.Ē

The bronze went to Ali Irshad of Pakistan who scored 577.
