Lalita Yauhleuskaya of Australia set a a new Games record to take the gold medal in the women's 25m sport pistol – singles.

New Games record holder Lalita Yauhleuskaya

Yauhleuskaya who won a bronze medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, had a final score of 99.8 and a qualification score of 587 (total 686.8)form an afternoon of world class shooting.

Fellow Australian Linda Ryan took the silver with a final score of 101.7 and a qualification of 581 (total 682.7). The silver was won by Jocelyn Lees of New Zealand with a final score of 99.4 and a qualification of 573(total 672.4).
