Table tennis women's semis played out

It will be Singapore v New Zealand in the final of the women’s singles competition.

A determined and aggressive Li Chunli only gave one game away in her semi-final defeat over No 2 seed Jing Jun Hong).

She will now battle it out for gold against the No 1, Li Jia Wei who in a graceful and relaxed display defeated team-mate Tan Paey Fern Sharon to book her place in the final.

Meanwhile, Paralympian Sue Gilroy of England cruised through three winning games against team-mate Cathy Mitton in the women’s wheelchair singles semi-finals. And South African Alette Moll beat Joy Boyd in a close match 3-2. Gilroy and Moll will play each other in the final Sunday 4 August.
