Zoe Baker: narrowly missed out the world record

Baker had indicated she believed another world record was possible but afterwards said that the pressure of the final had made it more difficult.

South Africaís Sarah Poewe swam well to take the silver in a time of 31.73, finishing ahead of Australiaís Tarnee White (AUS) who completed in 3.74.

Baker said later: "Tonight was about winning the gold, although I wanted to shave a bit more off the time. I canít complain though. Itís the second fastest time Iíve ever done, and it felt good. Maybe I was a little bit tense, and thereís a bit more left in me yet."
