Sarah Price has broken her own record yet again

23-year-old Price broke the record yet again when she won the final in 1:01.06 ahead of two the Australians, Dyana Calub (1:01.86) and Giaan Rooney (1:02.22).

The ecstatic crowd saw Price control the race all the way from start to finish.

A relieved gold medallist Price said: “I’ve showed everyone now that I can perform in major competitions, and I’m just so happy.”

“Tonight I just wanted to go out there and win. In the past, I’ve not wanted to swim, but I really enjoy it now.”

“I knew the Australians would be up on me at 50, I just wanted to keep going out strong. The crowd have made a really big difference. We’ve never had this before, and it’s just fantastic.”

“I’ve stepped up my training now. I’m full-time now, and I just want to thank my coach. I couldn’t ask for a better coach,” she added.
