The XVII Commonwealth Games is the first wholly-inclusive multi-sport event. This means that, for the first time ever, medals won by Elite Athletes with a Disability will count towards the final medal tally. Manchester will host two EAD athletics events – men’s 100m blind and women’s 800m (wheelchair). Eligibility
- All athletes must have an internationally authorised classification at the time of entry.
Rules - men's 100m blind
- All athletes must run with a guide.
- Each race compromises of a maximum of four runners each with a guide runner.
- The maximum entry per country is two athletes.
- Guide runners will be additional to these athlete numbers
Rules - women's 800m (wheelchair)
- The event is open to all physically disabled wheelchair athletes but not the visually impaired.
- The maximum entry per country is two athletes.
