Australiaís sporting icon Cathy Freeman, one of the worldís most famous athletes, visited Manchesterís futuristic Urbis museum.
At Urbis she spoke about her hopes for the Commonwealth Games.
Freeman, who won the Olympic 400 metres gold in Sydney in 2000, said: ďItís great to be in Manchester. I am so pleased that I have been able to come. Some of the most brilliant athletes in the world are here and I just canít wait for the competition to start."
"I know the atmosphere in the Stadium is going to be fantastic with 38,000 people cheering on the athletes and I think we are going to see some fantastic performances."
"I have only been here a short time, but the people in Manchester have been so friendly, I know Iím going to have a great time.Ē
"Iím sure this will be a Commonwealth Games to remember," she added.
