One more event to decide heptathlon medals

Jane Jamieson is only one event away from winning gold after throwing well in the javelin event.

Jamieson now has a total of 5245 points, with Ghana’s Margaret Simpson in second place on 5094 points and Australia’s Kylie Wheeler (in third place with 5077pts.

England’s, Julie Hollman (4937pts), Kelly Sutherton (4825pts) and Kerry Jury (4695pts) now take 6th, 7th and 8th places in the overall table.

The 800m is the only remaining event in the heptathlon and this will decide the medals standings, which at present are looking to be in Australia and Ghana’s favour.
