800m title holder makes men's final

Japhet Kimutai, the Kenyan who took gold in the 800m at the Kuala Lumpur Games in 1998, has made it through to the final as expected.

Kimutai winning gold in the 800m at the 1998 Commonwealth Games

Kimutai's place in the final, which will be held on 29 July, could see the Kenyan's winning another gold medal in a track event.

They have already won two with the men's 10000m and the men's 3000m steeplechase.
