Head coach Frank Shamo told GNA sports in Accra that his teamís preparations have been excellent, and that all their rough edges have been smoothened, setting a stage for a good showdown. At their training camp the team were in high spirits.

Shamo said the Ghanaian team could cause an upset despite the presence of three of the top four Badminton countries in the world - England, Indonesia and Malaysia.

He said: "We are ready to match these dreadful three boot for boot, in order to get to the medal zone".

The five players, Noah Ayim, Issah Mohammed, Martin Owusu, Mary Ennoo and Theresa Tetteh, are all optimistic of winning medals for their country. They have been psyched up to meet the challenges ahead, even though this is their first major international assignment.

The team will participate in both the males and female's singles and doubles. Noah Ayim and Issah Mohammed will represent the men in doubles, and Mary Ennoo and Theresa Tetteh will represent the women.
