 Mountain biking makes its second appearance at Manchester 2002 and will be staged amidst the beautiful countryside at Rivington to the north west of Manchester.
The sport has been recognised as a world-class event since 1990 when the first world championships were held, and a strong field from Canada and Australia are expected to challenge the home nations riders for the medals. So if you like your cycling to be of the more rugged variety you need to book a date in your diary for 29 July for the mountain biking events.
