Eadie finished a thousandth of a second ahead of Englandís Jamie Staff to ease through. Finishing third was Ryan Bayley of Australia.

Afterwards Eadie said: ďItís my first event on the track. I broke the Games record from four years ago. I thought I had the Commonwealth record in Kuala Lumpur. I went 10.3 on an outdoor track, then Hilly (Darren Hill) went 10.2 so I had to wait four years for another go at that.

ďThe young guys have got plenty of horsepower but it was good to sneak a thousandth from the English guy (Jamie Staff). Iím sure all the crowd were blowing against me down the back straight.Ē
