Womenís pairs quarter finals decided
Scotland and England became the final two womenís pairs teams to book themselves into the last eight of the lawn bowls on 31 August.
Northern Ireland and Wales had secured their place in the quarter-finals earlier, as had Jersey, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia.
England beat Games debutantes the Isle of Man 15-9, while Scotland overcame Zambia 16-11.
Defending Commonwealth menís singles champion Roy Garden suffered a setback in his 2002 campaign when he lost to Zambiaís Eddie Nikole.
Garden began the game on the back foot and was 11-2 down by the seventh end. But he battled back to be one behind on 20-19 at the end of the 21st.
The 22nd was very tight, and ended up being decided by a measure, which had to be made twice.
Garden was the winner by one shot to tie the scores at 20-20, but Garden threw his first two bowls short in the next end to let Nikole in for the narrowest of victories.
