Wales now face South Africa on Friday in the fifth place play-off.

Though Wales took a confident approach into the match, Jamaica controlled proceedings from the outset to lead 18-8 at quarter-time.

The in-form Jamaican shooting combination failed to miss in the first quarter with Elaine Davis and Simone Forbes both netting nine goals each.

Jamaica, ranked four in both the Commonwealth and the world, continued to dominate in the second quarter and pulled away to lead 38-15 at half-time.

Both coaches made numerous changes at the break with incoming Welsh goal keeper Sarah-Louise Hale performing well against Davis in the second half.

But Jamaica continued to outclass Wales in every third and led 55-25 at three quarter-time before sealing a comfortable win in the final quarter.
