Bangladeshi marksmen aiming high
20 July 2002
The Bangladeshi team are coming to the Commonwealth Games armed and ready.
The shooting events are being held at Bisley in Surrey
The touring party to the shooting site in Bisley, Surrey comprises 11 members of the shooting team including three officials.
The inclusion of Russian coach Sidorov Alexandre for the last two months has helped the shooters better their mark but how they cope with English conditions remains the big poser.
The brightest medal hope is Sabrina Sultana, who won a gold medal in the Commonwealth Shooting Championships.
She will compete in the 10m air rifle, 50m rifle prone and 50m rifle three positions. Her teammates in these events will be Suraiya Akter and Fawzia Karim.
In the men's competition experienced Alam Rinki will be guiding young guns Asif Hossain, Kamrul Islam, Anwar Hossain and Mohammed Ali.
