Remaining job opportunities for volunteers
Although we have had an overwhelming response to the Volunteer Programme we are still looking for volunteers in a number of key areas.
The National Shooting Centre at Bisley in Surrey will be the venue for all the shooting events for the XVII Commonwealth Games and our Bisley volunteers will play a crucial part in ensuring their success.
Bisley is a world-class venue and one of the few where spectators can watch the competitions free of charge.
We are looking for volunteers who live within easy travelling distance of Bisley (the nearest railway stations are Woking and Brookwood) to fulfil roles as varied as VIP drivers, protocol assistants, Athletesí Village assistants, doctors, nurses, technology specialists and many more.

Don't panic - it's not too late to volunteer
Additional roles have now become available due to the expansion of thr vehicle fleet, strong ticket sales and increased stafing requirments to ensure spectator's safety and comfort throughout the Games.
There are also a few remainig positions within Ceremonies which still need to be filled. Please see below for further information.
The positions available with Ceremonies are to assist with costumes, make-up and props. Volunteers are rquired immediately as rehearsals for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies have already started. Although we have had an overwhelming response to our initial call for volunteers, these roles do require a combinations of specific skills, along with enthusiasm and motivation.
We are looking for VIP drivers who will transfer VIPs and other client groups to sport venues and other official locations. You need to be 25 or over and have a good driving record. A sound knowledge of Manchester and the surrounding area is preferable, although training will be provided. Customer services skills are additionally important as the role involves being in close contact with VIP visitors.
Security / Event services
For legal reasons if you wish to volunteer for these roles, you will need to be aged between 18 and 55. These positions will be particularly attractive to confident, outgoing volunteers who enjoy working in teams and being amongst crowds.
We are looking for city guides to work on-street within Manchester City Centre and along the pedestrian route to the Stadium, providing help, information, directions and a smile to all visitors to Manchester over the Games period.
This high profile role starts on 24 July and finishes on 4 August and we would ask that you are available for a minimum of eight days out of the total 12. Training will of course be provided.
