Trio of Aussies in backstroke final

Three Australian super swimmers make it through to the final of the 100m backstroke.

Matt Welsh in line for his second gold medal

They are Ian Thorpe, Ethan Rolfe and Matt Welsh, who is the favourite in this event.

Welsh clocked up the fastest time in the semis, followed by Alex Lim of Malaysia and Gregor Tait of Scotland.

Joining Tait from the home countries are Martin Harris and Adam Ruckwood of England.

Gerhard Zandberg of South Africa also qualifies for the final.
