Australian swimmers do it again
02 August 2002
Justin Norris takes gold in the 400m individual medley winning yet another gold for the Australian swimmers.
Norris is another swimmer who has broken a Games record today, with a time of 4:16.95.
Behind him was Canadian, Brian Johns, and England's Adrian Turner came in third to claim bronze.
Norris said afterwards: "I thought I was a bit dead today. I hardly slept a wink. I had to get as much rest as I could during the day. I was a bit lucky in that I was drawn in the next lane to Terence Parkin, who I used through the breaststroke.
“I had a little bit more left at the end and that’s what5 gave me it. But my body’s just about KO’d."
Justin Norris (AUS) 4:16.95 (GR)
Brian Johns (CAN) 4:17.41
Adrian Turner (ENG) 4:18.75
