Katura Horton-Perrinchief, Bermuda's diving hope, is already loving Manchester 2002.

Katura Horton-Perinchief: "The boards are great"

Katura Horton-Perinchief, Bermuda’s sole diving representative, is just happy to be here, she said at the end of Sunday’s training session.

The Bermudan team arrived on 17 July and Horton-Perinchief, who is competing in the one-metre and three-metre springboard events, says she is impressed with Manchester 2002's facilities.

“I love it, it’s beautiful,” she said. “The boards are great, the pool is amazing and I’ve already met a lot of new people.”

Horton-Perinchief is coached by a Canadian and often trains with their divers, so was happy to be joined at the Commonwealth Games Village on Saturday 20 July.

“I’m just looking forward to getting started. I’m really happy to be here among all these amazing divers,” she said. “My goal was just to compete here and to show people that we can excel at diving. It is an honour to be here.”
