09†July†2002

Runner John Korir is confident of medal sweep for Kenya.

City of Manchester Stadium

Korir an armed forces athlete who will be making his Commonwealth debut at the Games said at the teamís training camp: "I expect a 1-2-3 win for Kenyan athletes in most events."

Korir is one of six Kenyan athletes who have reported to camp. Others are Abraham Cherono, Stephen Cherono (3,000m s/c), David Kimutai (20km walk), Iness Chenonge (5,000m), John Korir (10,000m) and Joshua Chelanga (marathon).
