Charlotte Moore is through to the final

Tamsyn Lewis of Australia (2.00.55) won the first heat in a slightly faster time than the winner of the second heat Maria Mutola of Mozambique (2.01.59).

The first heat also saw Diane Cummins of Canada and 17 year old Moore through to the final with Susan Scott of Scotland and Michelle Ballentine of Jamaica qualifying as fastest losers.

The second heat saw Agnes Samaria of Namibia and Englandís Jo Fenn make the cut for the final in slightly slower times than the heat 1 qualifiers.

The final now looks a mouthwatering prospect with few predicting the victor with any certainty.
