The young English mixed doubles partnership defeated a Chinese pair in straight sets in the final of the Malaysian Open.

Nathan and Gail beat Wang Wei and Zhang Ya Wen 11-9, 11-4 to take the Malaysian Open mixed doubles title today (Saturday).

Although the pair have only been playing together for 18 months they took a silver medal at this year's European Championships and won the Dutch Open last year.

Nathan and Gail will be members of Team England's 14-strong badminton squad.

Tickets are still available for badminton from our ticketing section.
