The hosts are favourites. England have won gold in every mixed team final they have played since its introduction to the Commonwealth Games in 1978.

In contrast the Asians are making their mixed team competition debut in Manchester and the number seven seeds have exceeded all expectations by reaching this far.

Singaporeís top menís singles player Ronald Susilo, unbeaten in the competition so far, will play Manchesterís Colin Haughton (ENG), who in comparison has found himself in indifferent form playing in front of a home crowd.

England could pick either world no 20 Tracey Hallam (ENG) or English national champion Julia Mann to face world no 43 Li Li (SIN) in the womenís singles.

Singapore are unlikely to change their doubles line-up and Susilo and Patrick LAU will face Nathan Robertson (ENG) in partnership with Anthony Clark (ENG).

In the womenís doubles Jiang Yanmei (SIN) and Fatimah Kumin Lim (SIN) will meet Englandís top pairing of Gail Emms and Joanne Goode.

There may be no place for Olympic bronze medallist Simon Archer (ENG), who watched from the sidelines as England beat Malaysia, if Finn Traerup-Hansen decides to stick with his strongest team.
