The development of world class facilities for the Commonwealth Games and future major events is not restricted to Manchester. The National Shooting Centre at Bisley in Surrey will host the full programme of shooting events for the Commonwealth Games and will provide a satellite village for the athletes and officials associated with these events. With £6m funding from Sport England, Bisley is already regarded as a major focal point for the sport of shooting, both nationally and internationally, and the significant investment in new facilities, facilitated by the Commonwealth Games, will provide the only facility in the world capable of holding all Olympic and full bore disciplines on one site.
